Jenna Johnson from Dancing with the Stars fame has teamed up with Jo+Jax for a collection unlike any you’ve seen. Better yet, each item was made with you in mind.

About Jenna Johnson

Jenna Johnson is an American Latin and ballroom dancer and choreographer. Raised in Provo, Utah, Johnson started dancing when she was just three years old. She cross-trained in Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, and Contemporary, and picked up Ballroom dancing at the young age of eight. “I fell in love with it. It was SO explosive and feminine and powerful and I just loved every second of it,” Johnson said of Ballroom dancing. She is a five-time U.S. National Latin Champion, a U.S. National Youth 10 Dance Champion, and a three-time National Contemporary Winner. Johnson competed on season 10 of So You Think You Can Dance and finished as ladies’ third runner-up. Jenna Johnson is currently on Dancing with the Stars, where she’s been for 13 seasons.

How This Pairing Got Started

Sometimes, all you need is a bit of fate working in your favor to make magic happen, and that’s exactly how Jo+Jax’s collaboration with Jenna Johnson started. One afternoon, Jenna took her niece to a Jo+Jax photoshoot since she had been doing some modeling work for us. Once she made her way onto the set, Jenna touched base with Joey Dowling, who she hadn’t seen in 12 years. In passing, Joey mentioned wanting to do a collection with Jenna for Jo+Jax. At first, Jenna thought she was just being kind and making conversation, until she got a text from a former roommate who was currently working at Jo+Jax, asking again to do a collection.  “It was just beyond, and I feel like we all became a family and I felt like I had known these people my whole life.” From that point on, history was made.

What Inspired Jenna Johnson for Her Line

Jo+Jax designed Jenna’s dance-wear line with women in mind. The collection features a bold Cheetah print, which the dancer views as a staple in the ballroom community. The fabrics used are ones she’s come to know and love during her time on Dancing with the Stars.

Above everything else, Jenna wanted to create a line that would make people feel fierce, comfortable, and confident. She says, “I think clothes can give you a lot of confidence and when you don’t feel like you look so great you know it lessens your confidence. So with this, I wanted to make something that was going to give everybody that fierce spark in them while wearing it.”

With striking colors, such as red, being added to the Cheetah mix, Jenna hopes to make these bright and vibrant colors less taboo in the dance world, one Jo+Jax line at a time. Despite having bright colors and prints in the mix, Jenna knew she had to throw a classic black into the mix, too.

This line really allows everyone to have quality ballroom attire easily accessible to them, with skirts in various colors being a top priority. This allows people to have options that can be paired with various colors, patterns, and designs to style the specific look you are going for.

The skirt was just – it’s everything. Super sleek, super sexy and super flattering.”

In addition to skirts, Jenna’s Jo+Jax line will also include leggings, open-back leotards, and deep v-neck and mesh crop tops. The pieces were all made with immense care to help people look and feel their best while wearing any particular piece.

“The meaning or the theme behind this collection was really the three words that we went with: Bold, Beautiful, and Fearless. I think that truly embodies this whole collection and everything that we wanted people to feel while wearing it.”
