The weather is getting warmer, so there's no better time to dance outdoors like nobody's watching! This time of year is the best time to take advantage of warmer temps to score some great dance shots for your website, portfolio or even just for fun. How can you take advantage of the heat for some hot photos? Check out our tips below!
Scout around your town for some prime locations. Take a stroll around town and find some fun spots for a shoot. Don't be afraid to get creative! It could be a playground, an ocean escape or even arabesques off a sculpture downtown. Just be aware of trespassing laws and make sure you are safe in the process.
Add a pop of color with your wardrobe. Once your location is down pat, establish a color palette and allow it to come alive with a hint of fashion. Our website is a great place to start if you're looking for a unique find.
Pin your poses. Looking for some serious #inspo? Look no further than your Pinterest account! Creating a Pinterest board is a great tool when it comes for planning poses and getting inspired.
Communicate your vision with the photographer. If the shoot you are planning has a bigger production team than your friend and an iphone, make sure you tell the photographer all the details we mentioned above. They will be able to help you refine your ideas to create the perfect masterpiece.
Invest in hair and makeup. If you planned a big outdoor photo shoot, there is a lot that is out of your control when it comes to shoot day....and that includes weather unpredictability. Having a hair and makeup artist "on set" is a worthwhile
investment; they will make sure you are looking your best so you can focus on delivering your best work.
When in doubt...improv! If you've run out of poses, don't be afraid to let loose and just groove! You'd be surprised by the beautiful shots you receive when you just do what feels good in the moment.
Give yourself a creative license. There are no boundaries! Give yourself permission to be creative and do what has not yet been done.
We'd love to feature you + your photography!
