Joey and I grew up just south of Salt Lake City Utah at our mother's dance studio. Joey braved downtown NYC at TISCH, NYU and a few years later, I attended the University of Utah in the ballet department. Joey, being the busy body that she is, couldn't wait to attack the dance scene in New York and I followed suit not too long after. As we entered the dance world we quickly learned that sometimes your talent isn't enough to get you noticed. When looking for clothing to wear to auditions, we came up short, literally. I am 5'9" and Joey is . . . get ready . . . 5'11". Most clothing was too short. And, although it seems like a long time ago, "floods" were not in style at the time.

We were so particular about cut and fabric we had to take matters into our own hands. We turned to the garment district to find great fabric for items that would help us stand out and then we would take the fabric back home to our studio seamstress in Utah to have something made. We found we really loved the designs we came up with and so did everyone else.

Joey and I found ourselves lucky enough to get jobs as Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall (no doubt with the help of some of our 'one of a kind' outfits). As many know, the audition process is very intense for this particular show and any "leg up" (pardon the pun) you can get helps. As you can imagine, many of the ladies we were surrounded with found themselves in the same predicament we did- everything was too short. We started buying more and more fabric and making more and more items for the Rockettes.

For the few years following our "Rockette Days" we found ourselves teaching all around the country to kids and adults. Although in different areas of their lives, we saw the need for great dance clothes with our students as well as our peers. We figured, "why not?" We get so excited when we see girls unafraid of color and that was huge for us. Even at Radio City we encouraged all of the women to be bold and courageous with color. One of our friends there ordered a bright pink unitard- head to toe HOT PINK! Everyone said she was nuts! But almost every time we see her she tells us another story about how that pink unitard helped get her a job.

For those who know us well, we are very different people. Those who only know us from stage think we are identical twins. This brings balance to our relationship and also this clothing line. Joey is bold and outgoing, and I am consistent and focused. Our clothes are a blend of both!
